646f9e108c Jackie Chan stars as a hot-shot lawyer hired by a Hong Kong chemical plant to dispose of opposition to their polluting ways. I first saw &quot;Dragons Forever&quot; in the theater with subtitles. I was mesmerized. I had just discovered the magic of Jackie Chan and the fight scenes in it had me and the rest of the audience in awe. I knew I had to buy the video.<br/><br/>Unfortunately it turned out to be a dubbed version. I&#39;m trying to put my finger on what is annoying about the dub voices. They seem overly familiar. Like these are the people who have done thousands of dubbings for Hong Kong films.<br/><br/>But even on the little screen, the fights are still amazing. Top notch choreography and stunts. Alas, director Sammo Hung decided to ladle on a lot of romantic sentimentality that really slows the pace. It&#39;s more noticeable on repeated viewings.<br/><br/>But I&#39;ll keep watching because of these highlights: Biao Yuen is great as Jackie&#39;s oddball friend and he&#39;s an amazing fighter. Benny &quot;The Jet&quot; Urquidez looking more cyborg than man. Biao&#39;s apartment with the over-sized light switch and tubes for a fish tank. Last but not least the white pin-striped suit of the psychiatrist that is absolutely to die for.
One again &quot;Jackie Chan&quot; &amp; &quot;Sammo Hung Kam-Bo&quot; &amp; &quot;Biao Yuen&quot; star in the same movie. This is the most amazing movie!!! It&#39;s even better then &quot;Project A&quot; with the three brothers. This movie has the most amazing fight scenes and stunts there is. And this is the funniest &quot;Jackie Chan&quot; movie there is. There is an amazing fight aboard a ship and a fight in a restaurant in the beginning of the movie. Also see &quot;Jackie&quot; fight the amazing &quot;Benny Urquidez&quot;. That fight is ranked among the best &quot;Jackie&#39;s&quot; fight scenes ever filmed and I agree. So go rent buy doesn&#39;t matter as long as you see this film.

An Extended Export Version was released on DVD in Germany and Laserdisc in Japan that features two more scenes showing Yuen Biao at the psychiatrist and the bicycle-folding-scene. The French DVD contains both the uncut HK Version with the original audio and an overdubbed but 16 minutes shorter French Version, which lacks some of the plot elements. This is probably not the same cut that can be found on the French tape by Rene Chateau because the exclusive scenes from the Export Version can be found in French language as a bonus on the French DVD. Also, both versions on DVD have more or less the same picture quality, which is not always the case with this label. It looks as if the HK master tape has been used to recreate the VHS release&#39;s cuts without including the Export Version&#39;s scenes due to their inferior quality.<br/><br/>It can be assumed that the Exported Version was used as a basis for the French Version because all of its cuts are included in it as well. Another 10 minutes of storyline were removed as well. This version is certainly not recommendable, but at least the complete cut can be found on the DVD as well even in good quality. However, it lacks English subtitles, English speakers should therefore buy the British DVD, which is also good.
